18 DAYS SUMATRA OVERLAND KUBU PRIMITIVE TRIBE

DAY 01.MEDAN AIRPORT

Arrival in Medan. We will pick up you from the airport and depart to Bohorok/Bukit Lawang to orang utan rehabilitation centre in Gunung Leuser nature reservation. Overnight stay in Bukit Lawang

DAY 02.BUKITLAWANG – VISIT ORANG UTAN.
Bukit Lawang In this impressive nature reserve you can see the orang utans in their natural environment. This involves a walk through the jungle for 3 – 4 hours with professional local guide. The sportive hiker can take exciting jungle trips here. However walkers must be fit and have suitable, large profile shoes.

 DAY 03.BUKITLAWANG  – BRASTAGI.

You will make a trip along fascinating route to the mountain village of Brastagi in the Karo Highlands. Here you can view two active volcanoes, the Sibayak and the Sinabung. In Brastagi you can visit the colorfull fruitmarket.

DAY 04. BRASTAGI – SBAYAK VOLCANO

After early breakfast drive to the slope of Sibayak Vulcano and then start climbing to Sibayak Volcano, where approximately at noon arrival on the top of Sibayak volcano, after take a rest and enjoy it the view, start treking back to Brastagi via different route where you will arrive at Semangat Gunung hot spring and you can enjoy swimming on the hot spring pool after that drive back to Hotel for overnight.

Sibayak Volcano
This is an active volcano 2,165 m above sea level. The ascent passes through thick tropical forest. From the mountain peak climbers can look down into the crater which is still actively producing lava. You can also see the beautiful scenery around them. Climbing start from the village of Jarang uda it is about 1.5 km from our Hotel, and takes it’s about 3 - 4 hours to climb the mountain. The temperature at the peak is about 18° C

DAY 05.BRASTAGI SAMOSIR

After breakfast leave for Prapat. On the way stops at Dokan the Karonese traditional village, Sipiso Piso waterfall and the longhouse of King Purba. Arrive in Prapat at Lake Toba in afternoon. Cross Lake Toba by ferry boat to Samosir Island

 DAY 06.TOBA TOUR

Samosir Island – tour to Tomok, Ambarita and Simanindo and visit typical Toba Batak villages: Tomok with its kings' tombs, Ambarita with its execution tables and in Simanindo with traditional Batak dances

DAY 07.SAMOSIR – SIPIROK

In the early morning you will cross the lake to Prapat from where you leave for Padang Sidempuan. Along the southern shores of Lake Toba with its lovely rice fields and huge Batak kings' graves you travel through the Toba highlands. During the trip you will pass hot sulphur springs at Sipoholon.

DAY 08.SIPIROK – BUKITTINGGI

The route to Bukittinggi in the Minangkabau highlands brings you again right through the Bukit Barisan mountainical ridge of Sumatra. It is an impressive tour which you drive through a wall of tropical rain forest. En route stop at Aek Sijornih the waterfalls drop on to the coconut plantation and Rimba Panti National Park also you will you pass the equator in the place Bonjol. In the late afternoon we arrive in the cool and pleasant town of Bukittingi.

DAY 09.MINANGKABAU TOUR.
After breakfast drive to Batu Sangkar via Tabek Patah, on the way stop at Rao-Rao to visit Minangkabau traditional village and stop to see traditional village and stop to see traditional coffee milling, arrival at Batu Sangkar drive to Pagaruyung to visit the duplicate of the Palace of Minangkabau Kingdom, afternoon return to Bukittinggi via Padang Panjang and visit Pandai Sikat village to see Minangkabau traditional hand weaving and wood carving.

DAY 10.BUKITTINGGI – MANINJAU .
After breakfast city tour by visiting Sianok Canyon with its Japanese tunnel, Fort de Kock, Museum and Jam Gadang (Big Ben) the Landmarks of Bukittinggi and visit market then drive to Maninjau, on the way visiting Koto Gadang village to see traditional silver work and passing the fantastic 44 hairpin turns road, arrival at Maninjau check in to hotel.

DAY 11.MANINJAU LAKE
today is your free time to swim on Lake Maninjau, walking or cycling around the Lake.

DAY 12.MANINJAU – PADANG
After brekfast drive to Padang via Pariaman with stop at Artha beach and arrival at Padang visit Muara beach and then check in to hotel.

DAY 13. PADANG– KERSIK TUO KERINCI
After breakfast drive to Sungai Penuh via Muara labuh and stop at Lake Diatas and Lake Dibawah and passing several Minang Kabau villages. On the way visit Telun Berasap Waterfall and passing tea plantation at Kayu Aro and arrival at Kersik tuo, the area of Kerinci Seblat National Park      check in to hotel and dinner.

DAY 14. LAKE GUNUNG TUJUH

Drive to the slope of of Lake Mount seven National Park for about 1 hours. Lake Danau Tujuh is a huge-mysterious lake on 1.996 m above sea level and surrounded by primary rainforest and 7 hills. Lunch will be served on the side of the lake. The pristine area around the lake is known as the habitat of Sumatran Tigers, Sumatran Elephants, Primates, endemic birds of Sumatra as well as research area for the “small man” who live in the jungle around the lake. Most of the day is spent by treking and explore the surrounding in search for animals, birds and        exotic plants.

DAY 15. KERSIK TUO – BANGKO
After breakfast city tour by visiting Simerup Hot Spring, Old Historical Mosque with its Giant Drum and Lake Kerinci , then drive to Bangko on the way passing rain tropical forest with its flora and fauna Stop will be made at several interesting places and arrival at Bangko check in to hotel.

DAY 16. EXPLORING KUBU PRIMITIVE TRIBE.
After breakfast drive around 2 hours to the village near the jungle then walking to the jungle to explore where the nomadic Kubu people live and witness their daily activity and its traditional and culture, picnic lunch box provide and afternoon return back to hotel.

DAY 17. BANGKO – BUKITTINGGI
After breakfast drive to Bukittinggi via Trans Sumatra highway ant with stop at Muara Bungo, Singkarak Lake and passing several interesting places, arrival at Bukittinggi the charming town of Minangkabau directly check in to hotel.

DAY 18. BUKITTINGGI – PADANG
After breakfats drive to Padang via Anay valley with stop at Anay Waterfall and arrival at Padang transfer to airport for your next destination.
